Meet The Team

Hollygate Veterinary Clinic have a range of experienced veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and support staff. We are all here to help so please do not hesitate to ask should you need us. We are all pet owners ourselves and understand your needs. Meet the team below.

Veterinary Surgeon

Rebecca Martin BVSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon

Rebecca qualified with distinction from the University of Liverpool in 2012.  She then spent 3 years in mixed practice before focusing on small animal practice, and in particular small animal medicine.  She is currently studying towards a RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in small animal medicine.

Outside work Rebecca spends her time working with her horse Apollo, and walking her dog Darcey.

Veterinary Surgeon

Ian Millar BVMS, CertVOphthal, MRCVS

Ian qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1976 and moved to Northern Ireland shortly after.  He joined the Earlswood team in 1980 and always had a keen interest in ophthalmology.  Ian achieved his Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 1984. With nearly 30 years of experience and study of ophthalmology, Ian has gained considerable clinical knowledge and surgical technique in complex cases.  A lot of this is in Intraocular surgery and that unforgiving area of cataract removal.  Having experienced the early days of simple techniques, he finds the state of the art equipment now used a joy to work with.  He sees his complex ophthalmology cases in Earlswood veterinary hospital.

As an active member of BRAVO (British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists), EVO (European Veterinary Ophthalmologists) and REOVVA (European Network in Veterinary Ophthalmology and Animal Vision), Ian keeps well up to date with current thought. As an eye panel list for the British Veterinary Association since 1985 he believes that identification of inherited eye disease in breeding dogs to be paramount.

Veterinary Surgeon

Kirsty Morrison

Kirsty qualified from Glasgow university veterinary school in July 2017. She spent 2 months working for the PDSA charitable vets before moving to the Isle of Man to work as a small animal clinician in a large veterinary practice.

She moved back to Northern Ireland in October 2018 to join the team at Hollygate.

Kirsty has a keen interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery, and hopes to extend her knowledge in these areas whilst working at Hollygate.

Outside of work Kirsty like to walk her rescue dog Angel and spend time with her family.
